World Book Day: A Showcase of Picture Book Illustrations

Today is World Book Day, which if a fantastic initiative that celebrates authors, illustrators, books and reading – which is something that’s very close to us here at Print Express (we’re evening running our own children’s short story competition). To celebrate World Book Day 2017, we wanted to bring together a collection of fresh, interesting and exciting picture book illustrations. These are all incredible works of art that would be right at home in any story or picture book, and they really help to bring the characters and events to life.

Illustration is one of those things that’s extraordinarily difficult, but can be improved with practice and hard-work – so if you want to be an illustrator, the best advice we can give is to get inspired and then practice, practice, practice. Of course, we can’t help with that last part, but we can help with giving you the inspiration, and that’s what today’s post is all about. So without further ado, here are our favourite recent pieces of picture book artwork to help celebrate World Book Day.
