The Best Design Agency Websites

We often talk about print here at DESIGN (which is unsurprising, considering we’re a printing company), but our design blog covers much more than that. One thing that I really find fascinating are trends in homepage design – and a great source of inspiration for that are design agency websites. Design agencies, of course, end up creating a lot of great sites for their clients – but these are often tempered by the needs of the client and often toned down based on feedback. When it comes to their own website, they can be a lot bolder and braver as they only have to answer to themselves. This means that some of the latest web design trends will be seen on design agency websites first.

I’ve been scouring the Internet for the latest, greatest design agency sites to see which sort of trends are appearing. It’s interesting to see how most sites are now a lot more minimalist, with a really noticeable use of white-space and a huge focus on big heading typography. Advances in both technology and internet speeds have also led to a bigger use of auto-playing background video or animation. Obvious trends from the last few years, particularly the use of ultra-flat design coupled with long shadows, are less used. For me, I think the standout noticeable feature that a lot of design agency sites are now using in 2017 are the full-page image with heading on page load, with a small icon to indicate you need to scroll to see the rest of the page. I’m not completely sold on that technique, but it seems to be working for some of these sites so I’ll leave that for you to decide on.

Here are some of my favourite recent examples of design agency websites – hopefully you’ll find these to be a useful source of inspiration for your next landing page or homepage design project.
